Because I knew how to make the thing we were making and I knew how to make it pretty well. And early on that was fine, that was actually good for us. For most of my life up until becoming the CEO of Gimlet, I had been a nonprofit journalist working in public radio. I made the product that this company was going to be selling. When my co-founder Matt and I started Gimlet, four years ago, I was coming into it in a way that I think happens with a lot of founders.
